About the villa

A contemporary three-bedroom architect-designed villa in the quiet bay of Torba, with uninterrupted sea views and pine-forested hills either side. Sleeps six in three en-suite bedrooms (all king-size, all with sea views). A 14-metre infinity lap pool mirrors the horizon — heated between May and October. Large natural-stone pool deck with sun loungers, shaded pergola, outdoor dining for eight, professional BBQ and a small outdoor kitchen with bar fridge and sink. Walled garden with Mediterranean planting. Inside: double-height living space with poured concrete floors, full-height glass doors onto the pool deck, and a statement wood-burning stove for cooler evenings. Kitchen fitted to Michelin standard (Gaggenau appliances, wine fridge, steam oven, coffee machine). Primary suite has its own private balcony and a soaking tub. Additional features: Sonos sound system, blackout blinds throughout, air-conditioning, gigabit WiFi, deep-pile towels, premium linens. No television by design (removed by the owner). Suitable for couples or small groups of adults; the specification is high-end and the finishes are expensive — not set up for young children.

The local area

Torba bay is the quiet end of the peninsula — a long pine-shaded bay with a scattering of low-key restaurants along the waterfront. Bodrum town is 12 minutes by car. A daily gulet to Yalıkavak for dinner takes 30 minutes. Bodrum airport is 20 minutes.

A lesson in restraint

Extraordinary house. Every detail considered. The bathroom alone is better than most hotels. Owner responds to everything within the hour.

Beautiful but not cosy

If you want a 'homely' villa this isn't it. If you want to stay in something genuinely beautifully designed, book it yesterday. We were in awe.

Design is king, comfort second

Incredibly good design. Slightly less incredibly comfortable — the sofa, in particular, looks beautiful but isn't a place to nap. Architect's villa in every sense.
