A characterful one-bedroom stone cottage in a walled garden, a short walk from Gümüşlük harbour and the submerged ruins of ancient Myndos. Sleeps two — ideal for a couples' retreat. A private plunge pool (4 × 3m) set into the rock with a shaded deck. Mature garden planted with pomegranate, lemon and fig trees — produce in season is yours to pick. Single outdoor dining table under a bougainvillea-draped pergola. Outdoor hot shower. Hammock strung between two olive trees. The stone cottage is two rooms: a combined living/kitchen/dining space and a separate bedroom with an en-suite walk-in shower room. Two-foot-thick limestone walls keep it cool in high summer (no A/C in the bedroom on principle — you won't miss it). Ceiling fans, handwoven kilim rugs, locally made ceramics. Compact kitchen fully equipped for self-catering: gas hob, combi microwave/oven, espresso machine, dishwasher drawer. Fast WiFi; no TV. Washing machine in a separate utility area. One car parking on site. Minimalist by choice — if you need five-star resort amenities this isn't it.
Six minutes on foot to Gümüşlük harbour. The submerged ruins of ancient Myndos lie directly offshore and can be reached on foot at low tide. The Sunday morning organic farmers' market is a peninsula institution. Bodrum town is 35 minutes by car.

A small stone cottage with a small pool. If you're expecting a villa with all the trimmings, this isn't it. What it IS is lovely, quiet, authentic.

Truly authentic. The food at Mimoza on the harbour was one of the best meals we've had on holiday in ten years.
