Datça is genuinely still off the beaten path. Villa is lovely, owners are warm, the almond baklava at the family's favourite baker is life-changing.

About the villa
A quiet two-bedroom villa with an additional study/small third bedroom, set among almond groves ten minutes from Datça town. Sleeps four comfortably (up to five with the study single bed). Both main bedrooms en-suite and air-conditioned. A private 7-metre pool surrounded by almond and fig trees, with a shaded pergola dining area, sun loungers, and a stone-built BBQ. Panoramic sea view from the upper terrace. Outdoor shower and a hammock strung between two olive trees. Interior is understated — ceramic tile floors, linen upholstery, a wood burner for shoulder-season evenings. Open-plan living/kitchen/dining. Kitchen equipped with gas hob, oven, full-size fridge-freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine, and a small wine fridge. Good reference books on the Datça peninsula. Additional features: fast WiFi (a proper line — not always a given in Datça), air-conditioning in both main bedrooms, ceiling fans, washing machine, hairdryers, beach towels. Off-street parking for one car. The peninsula is genuinely off the beaten path: no nightclubs, no big resorts, brilliant stars at night. Perfect for a quiet week; not right for a lively holiday.
The local area
Datça town is 7 minutes by car — small, unpretentious, genuine. Friday market is excellent. Greek island of Symi is accessible by ferry from the harbour. Cleopatra's Bath (a Roman-era cove) is a 20-minute walk down the peninsula. Dalaman airport is 3 hours; Bodrum airport 2 hours.

Beautiful villa, wonderful hosts. Only note: it's a serious drive from Dalaman airport. Factor that in.
